Mad Luellen in /digital room/
Note by Guest Juror Dorothy Santos
Some of my favorite artwork forces me to look, look away, and look for a much more prolonged gaze upon every viewing. This act of looking, to the point where you start to memorize the marks, the indentations, and the subtleties of the work, provoke yet another viewing to make sense of what you saw. I wanted to imagine myself with the hay bales or the opportunity to stand before his work, Just Peachy, and have a much more embodied, sustained look. Above all else, his sense of humor is subtle, yet potent.
